  Location is amazing and the rooms over the river have great views. The breakfast was great and staff were really attentive. The place is just a bit tired. We had no hot water or heating on the first night but it was late so we opted to snuggle up under the blanket (not a duvet). The mattress was more lumpy than my missus's gravy and the floorboards creaked like her hips....
  It's ok but dated.

  Stayed for one night on business. Views over the river were great and the room is nice enough, a little tired maybe but nothing too dramatic. No hot water though and no heating, the man on reception was curt both on the phone and in person which didn't help. The cleaners knocked on my door at 8 and 8:30 so I felt hounded out of my room. The first time they knocked and instantly opened the door when I was still in bed!

  Hated it. Hated the fact I made a brew in the room and the little milks were 4 month out of date and made me wretch. Hated the kids running up and down the corridor all night. I laughed at the fact I couldn't turn the TV on because the batteries were missing from the remote. The bed was so uncomfortable and sprung if one of moved the other did too. Didn't stay a second night, moved on to the Bryn howel hotel, and it's quite nice.

  Though old fashioned it keeps with the character of the old building great views of the river good location and very reasonable
